IASLT Biennial Conference

22 - 23 October 2009, Galway

Have done, doing, will do: continuing changes in speech and language therapy; the theme of this conference provided an opportunity to reflect on developments within the profession in this country over the last 40 years. Therapists were also given the opportunity to share ways to improve current practice based on clinical development and research as well as looking to the future.

And what a lot had happened for us to hear about...

IASLT’s 2009 Conference provided an interactive forum for clinicians, researchers and educationalists from speech and language therapy and other related professions to share
Conference delegates were able to hear about new innovations and research; there were also many opportunities to network with colleagues in the very pleasant surroundings of Galway’s Radisson Hotel.  The conference was a true celebration of the developments and diversity within our profession.

The Conference programme featured a packed two days of oral and poster presentations and workshops.  Topics included covered the whole range of child and adult clinical specialisms, innovation and development; partnership working; and the latest speech and language therapy research. It was a wonderful two days from which we have received extremely positive feedback.

The conference committee would like to thank all who presented and attended as it is not possible to have such a conference without your input. We look forward to our next conference in 2011.
