Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, regrettably we have taken the decision to postpone the Inaugural meeting of the Irish Head and Neck Society, and 1st General Assembly, which was due to take place on 28 March this month
We are rescheduling this meeting – current plan is for September 12, same venue (Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny).
Hopefully things will be more settled by then and it will be considered ok to proceed with gatherings of this size, but of course we will be keeping an eye on the situation.
For all those who have already joined the Irish Head and Neck Society and paid in your subscriptions, this will also cover your attendance at the rescheduled meeting.
For all those with papers accepted for presentation, or invited to give talks or participate in panels, these invitations still stand for the rescheduled meeting. I will hope to be in touch over the Summer to confirm your participation, when we have more certainty about everything.
Thank you all for your great interest and support of this fledgling society so far. Over the last few months, I have been simply blown away by the incredible level of support and enthusiasm from the four corners of Ireland, with so many people from so many disciplines genuinely wanting to do everything they can to make this society successful. Unfortunately, nobody could have predicted the coronavirus outbreak and the impact it would have. Hopefully, we will all get through this and get back to some level of normality in coming months.
Stay healthy all, best wishes
