Event Programme: 

10:15am: Welcome & Registration

10:30am: Workshop facilitated by Compassion Fatigue Ireland - Introduction and Presentation 

11:30am: Tea break

12.45am - 01:30pm: Workshop covering the following topics:

  • Compassion fatigue
  • Empathy
  • Investigating triggers and awareness levels
  • Exploring boundaries
  • The cost of caring versus compassion satisfaction
  • Secondary traumatic stress, vicarious trauma and their impacts
  • Work-life balance – the power of compartmentalisation
  •  Identifying frameworks and plans to help reduce symptoms of burnout
  • Relaxing, seated grounding techniques will take place.

01:30 - 02:15pm: Lunch and opportunity to network and explore the grounds

02.15pm - 03.15pm: Mini group discussions to share ideas about:

  • Collaborating with other SIGs
  • Collaborating with IASLT
  • Planning for 2024

03:15pm - 03:30pm: Conclusions and farewell

Attendance is limited to 4 SIG committee members (or incoming committee members) per SIG (you may be waitlisted depending on number of registrations).
