Current evidence relating to Childhood Apraxia of Speech webinar

This webinar will be facilitated by Dr Pam Williams and Dr Jan Broomfield, both of whom were involved in the RCSLT’s recent 2024 CAS Position Paper, as well as the previous iteration, the DVD document.

Pam was lead clinician for the dyspraxia service at the Nuffield Hearing and Speech Centre, (now known as the Paediatric Speech Clinic at UCLH), for many years. She was involved in the creation of the original Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme, and is first author of the current 3rd edition. Jan attained the first Consultant SLT post in the UK, with her clinical focus on Speech Sound Disorder. She held the position of Research Councillor at RCSLT, which led to the development of the 2011 policy statement on DVD.

Both Pam and Jan are members of the UK and Ireland Child Speech Disorder Research Network, a group of 15 leading researcher / clinicians, who are striving to drive the agenda for children with Speech Sound Disorder.

This webinar will explore the CAS Position Paper in detail, and consider the most recent published evidence. We will look at the theory and background, assessment and differential diagnosis, intervention and service delivery. There will be time for discussion and questions.
