KEYNOTE SPEAKER: IASLT BIENNIAL CONFERENCE 2023 - Glenn Carter

Glenn has worked in the public sector as a Speech and Language Therapist for over 23 years.
During that period, he was the professional advisor for children, adults and ALD. More
recently he has led the Children’s service in NHS Forth Valley where he had a particular
focus on has a facilitating transformational change to reach the most vulnerable families
living in poverty.
Glenn studied leadership at Aberdeen University and has held a range of leadership roles
over the last 18 years both at a local and national level. He has supported many services
within the NHS and social work to facilitate healthy work cultures.
Glenn was appointed as the Head of the RCSLT Scotland office in January 2022 and since
then has successfully raised the profile of the profession and people with communication
and swallowing needs both in the media and with politicians.
