In November 2021, Zelda took up a position at the National Maternity Hospital as Clinical Specialist in Neonatology, the first SLT employed in a NICU in a Dublin Maternity Hospital.

Zelda previously worked as a SLT at Children's Health Ireland at Crumlin with complex tracheostomy and ventilator dependent children, and with other complex groups working with feeding and communication skills.

Zelda is lead author of the 2016 Cochrane Review 'Oral Stimulation for Oral Feeding in Preterm Infants'. The updated version is currently in press. She has authored a book chapter on paediatric tracheostomy, publication pending 2023.

Zelda was appointed adjunct assistant Professor in Clinical Speech and Language Studies in Trinity College in February 2022 and is hugely supportive of training and research in infant feeding at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
