Overview:
PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) is a tactile-kinesthetic approach to speech therapy designed primarily for individuals with motor speech disorders. By incorporating physical cues and hands-on techniques, PROMPT therapy aims to facilitate the coordination and integration of oral motor movements, leading to improved communication skills. PROMPT’s Conceptual Framework considers not only the physical-motor aspects of speech but also cognitive-linguistic and social-emotional domains allowing clinicians to provide holistic intervention.
This webinar will cover recent updates to PROMPT’s research evidence base and an introduction to the theories underpinning the approach. Through clinical examples, participants will gain insight into PROMPT and how it can benefit their clients.
