Wellness & Self Care Day for SLTs and other HSCP

What the day involves…..

Start 9:30 -Finish 3:15

  • Yin Yoga practice
  • Discussion regarding sources of stress and nervous system regulation for self-care
  • Journal practice re internal/external stressors and practical self-care strategies
  • The Mindful Cycle - input on living in sync with your cycle for self-care and wellbeing
  • Create your own self-care plan
  • Reflections and evaluation
  • Guided meditation

Facilitators

Paula Byrne, M.A. B.A. P.G.C.E

Paula is a qualified primary school teacher and holistic wellness educator with 16 years teaching experience in the education and wellbeing sectors. Through her extensive training and experience Paula has dedicated her time to holding space for others to allow them to enhance their own wellbeing and knowledge. She endeavors to cultivate a more holistic approach to daily life by supporting others to form habits that nourish the mind, body and spirit.

Claire McElvanna, Senior Speech & Language Therapist, M.I.A.S.L.T.

Claire is a CORU registered Senior Speech & Language Therapist with 18 years experience working in a range of clinical settings. Through both her personal and professional life Claire has recognised the real need to support and value Speech & Language Therapist’s in their work so they can thrive not only in a professional capacity but in their personal life also.

  • This course is open to IASLT members and non-members.
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure that the training course fulfils a CPD need identified as part of their own CPD planning.
  • You must commit to attending the entire day.
  • You must observe the cancellation policy below.

Before registering for this event, please log in to your IASLT User (Visitor) or  IASLT Member account.
If you are not already registered as an IASLT User or Member you will have the option to register as a User or Member when you click on the Log-in Button which will appear below. The process of becoming a user is free and only takes a few minutes.

Booking on a first come first served basis. Place is only confirmed on
receipt of payment. If you cannot attend we will do our best to offer your
place to another person on the waiting list but if this is not possible we will
be unable to offer a refund.

Payments need to be made via the payment link provided as this is an integral step in our automatic event management system. Once you have made your payment via the link, your event registration is fully processed and you will receive your receipt and be included in other event notifications to participants.

If your employer will be covering the cost of this course,  we suggest that if possible you make the payment and recoup the cost. If this isn't possible, you may also copy your payment link and send to your accounts department so that they can make the payment by card. Please email cpdadmin@iaslt.ie if you need any assistance  or if this will cause a delay in your payment. We will be very happy to assist you or your accounts department.

Your receipt is sent to the email address that you used to register for an event. Please search your email account inbox for the subject 'Your Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists receipt' to find any past receipts.

Following the event you will be sent an email with a link to a feedback form, once you submit your feedback, a certificate of attendance can be found in the documents section of your IASLT dashboard. You can also submit your feedback by visiting 'My Events' section of your dashboard where there will be a 'submit feedback' button on the event card following the event.
