ADI-R Diagnostic Training Course

The ADI-R online training course follows the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism, assessing communication, social interaction, and restricted behaviours. This course will equip participants with the necessary knowledge and certification required to begin administering/coding the ADI-R in their practice.

This event is for:

Therapists with experience in neurodevelopmental differences/neurodiversity, social communication and interaction, and language profiles associated with autism. This includes researchers in the area of neurodiversity/autism. The ADI-R is a Level C test.

What You Will Learn:

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the procedures involved in administering the ADI-R
• Recognise behavioural features commonly associated with autism
• Demonstrate effective coding and scoring of the ADI-R through guided practice
• Apply the ADI-R algorithm to support autism classification decisions
• Conduct the ADI-R interview with accuracy and fidelity
• Interpret and score ADI-R responses accurately
• Evaluate developmental history and identify presenting concerns in order to inform differential diagnosis and rule out autism where appropriate
• Distinguish between circumscribed interests and atypical preoccupations during parent interviews
• Gather detailed developmental information from caregivers to determine the relevant ADI-R sections for administration
• Outline the key elements involved in a comprehensive autism assessment

Note: Further practice and experience will be needed before participants can use the ADI-R for clinical or research purposes.
