Speakers:

Nicola Jones - 

Nicola Jones is a Principal Officer with the Department of Education and Youth and Head of the Therapy and Inclusion Unit in Special Education. A qualified Occupational Therapist with experience working both nationally and internationally in therapy and leadership roles across Education, Primary Care, Disability and Mental Health Services. 

In her current role Nicola oversees policy advice and strategic direction in line with Government policy for therapy provision within the education system.

Áine Lawlor - 

Áine Lawlor is a Principal Officer with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) and Head of the Education Therapy Service. A qualified Speech and Language Therapist, she graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc in Clinical Speech and Language Studies and has extensive experience across Primary Care, Disability and education services.

In her current role, Áine provides strategic leadership for the Education Therapy Service, supporting the expansion and development of therapy services in schools. She has been involved with the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT), including as Chair of the Professional Standing Committee and Chair of the IASLT Board.
