The Role of the SLT when working with clients with Functional Neurological Disorder - 12th November 2026

This webinar will give an overview of the SLT role when working with clients with FND. It will address the specific challenges that SLTs face and identify skills and resources that support clinicians and patients.

Debbie Mason is a Specialist SLT with specialisms in Stammering, FND and the psychological aspects of communication. Debbie is a committee member of the SLT FND CEN and is currently working with other committee members on a Position Paper for RSCLT on FND. She is trained in multiple psychological approaches – Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hypnotherapy, Compassionate Inquiry, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and works holistically to support clients. She s passionate about supporting SLT expertise in FND and has led an Upskilling project for SLTs at North Bristol Trust.
