Dr. Iris Meerschman is a voice therapist and postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University (Belgium). She obtained her PhD in Health Sciences in 2018 with a dissertation on the effectiveness of voice training and voice therapy. Her earlier research focused on short-term intensive voice rehabilitation and semi-occluded vocal tract exercises. More recently, her work has explored the role of the autonomic nervous system in voice production, functional voice disorders, and laryngeal hypersensitivity. Dr. Meerschman has authored 47 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at national and international conferences. Alongside her research activities, she is clinically involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with voice disorders at Ghent University Hospital and in private practice. She also contributes to teaching activities within the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology programme at Ghent University. 

Kieran O’Sullivan graduated as a Physiotherapist in 1999. In 2004 he completed an MSc in
Manipulative Therapy at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Western Australia. In 2005, he
started lecturing at the University of Limerick. In 2008 he was awarded specialist member status by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. From 2016-2019, he was Lead Physiotherapist at the Sports Spine Centre at Aspetar, Qatar. His research interest is musculoskeletal pain and injury, particularly persistent low back pain. He has published over 170 journal articles. He has obtained over €4m euros in research funding. He was awarded a Lifetime Fellowship of the ISCP in 2024.
