The impact of voice changes after radiation therapy treatment

My name is Ella Byrne and I am currently studying Clinical Speech and Language Studies in Trinity College Dublin. As part of my undergraduate research project, I am conducting a survey on how radiation therapy affects the voice in individuals with head and neck cancer. I aim to understand how individuals feel about their voice after radiation therapy, how any changes may be impacting their daily living, and how the individual's perception of their voice aligns with the quality of their voice.

To help us compare experiences, we need information from people who do and do not have voice difficulties after their radiation treatment. If you take this survey, you will be asked to answer questions relating to the following:

  • Your perception of your own voice quality
  • How your voice impacts your daily life
  • How much your voice feels like it belongs to you
