Invitation for healthcare professionals to participate in an online survey of Lewy body dementia diagnosis and care in Ireland

As part of co-producing an integrated care pathway for Lewy-body dementia, a key output from the EMERALD-Lewy research program led by Professor Iracema Leroi (TCD) and Professor Suzanne Timmons (UCC), the members of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists are invited to participate in a national online survey of healthcare professionals’ knowledge, attitudes and practice in Lewy body dementia (LBD) diagnosis and care in Ireland.

This survey is part of a wider project that aims to improve awareness, diagnosis, care and the lived experience of LBD, funded by the Health Research Board (Emerald Lewy; APRO-2023-013). The purpose of this survey is to examine the knowledge, attitudes and practice of clinicians and supportive professionals who work in a field where they might see an individual with LBD.

This survey will help us shape a care pathway, to outline resources required for LBD diagnosis and care management, and to inform education and awareness raising. The survey takes about 10-15 minutes.

We have attached the landing (front) page of the survey here for your information.

This study has received ethical approval from the Social Research Ethics Committee at University College Cork.
